Demure or something
it seems there are tentative plans to build yet another superwalmart here in the Chattanooga area.* more than a couple of locals are displeased by this, and a protest was organized--which one of our Greyfriar's regulars attended. apparently this young fellow charged down to the protest grounds, handcuffed himself to a tree and shouted slogans or somesuch--which promptly got him arrested and removed from the area.

'twas not such a bad thing, really, and some might have even argued that it was a damn fine cause and this young man was well within his rights to object to the retail equivalent of an incoming viking horde. fair enough. however, young activist Jedis, let this be a lesson unto you: should YOU feel like making a point and getting yourself arrested on principle, please make sure you do NOT have several bags of pot stashed upon your person.

just a thought.

meanwhile, back at the ranch...
i really do have some work to get done, so i really AM going to log out of LJ here within mere moments. but tune in tomorrow for weekend mayhem, including (a). my take on 28 Days Later and (b). a list of stupid shit i overheard in the theater while waiting for the movie to start--including a bewildered howl of, "dad-gum! that's a blimp, rightchair." [spelled phonetically]

later, my peeps.

* we've already got TWO, for crying out loud.

So...clear this up for me; what's the difference between a SUPER Walmart and a Walmart?

Re:
super walmart has grocery store and a bunch of other stuff--eye doctors, dry cleaners, mcdonalds, Regis hair, etc. it's practically its own freaking CITY.

Ah HA. We don't have any of those in our neck of the woods. Not sure why...we just have Plain Old Ordinary Walmarts.

Maybe the new SW will put the other 2 SWs out of business. :-)

As the proud owner of only ONE SuperMegaGigaWalMart, I saw "28 Days" yesterday afternoon. Should be interesting to see if our psychic link is still working and how our views jibe and/or differ on it.

Spoiler space below for the creeepiest line of the movie:

"I promised them women."

And where do they plan to put this super walmart? I only go to one and I am pretty happy with that one.
