Just driving from Huntsville to Birmingham i had to get both cats dosed as they were tearing though the carry box the vet gave me. Full on freaked them both out being in a moving car.

For the lenght of her trip.. i am thinking duct tape.

:O)

I suggested kitty sedatives to her -- I use them on my cat when we travel -- but apparently, they make Spain puke. Although at this point, cleaning up kitty puke might not sound comparatively bad. ;)

HEY! I'm in Kansas City!

We took two wailing cats from here to Vermont once... hehe... it was about as entertaining as your trip with Spainy sounds...

Spainy's probably eing extra cute on the floor just because she's happy about being out of her carrier.

I know you won'te be able to read this in time to actually use it, but turning the carrier door around so that it faces the seat isn't a bad idea, and also the rug will make things better... Pillows are good too...

Not to worry though, it'll be a lot less stressful tomorrow. Good luck.

Snickers the cat, not the candy, I presume
Yeah, I was going to say that too. The "parrot idea" has worked for me in the past.

Well, shoot. If I'd have known you were coming through KC today, I'd have offered to meet you somewhere.

Here is a pic of one of my cats riding in the car last August on the way to be boarded for a week. The other two were also in the car...Aelgifa was in the carrier, Irix was throwing up on the floorboard in the back seat.

I am sure you can imagine the wailing given your immediate experience...Hey, be glad you aren't doing this with multiple cats...because it's just exponential.

I thought the way Jaden was clinging to James was just too cute.

If you're driving via I-90 (or at least if your trip takes you out that way), be careful of Snoqualmie pass. The NW's gotten a lot of snow pack this year, so be prepared. Pick up some chains if you don't have any. :-)

The Queen of Spain wins yet again.

Sorta.

And, that was an unfortunate rhyme.

Now you know why they call middle America 'Fly Over' country. Hey, is there room for Spainy in the trunk??? :) Good luck on your trip today and tomorrow. Watch the weather channel and see how those mountains are before going through them. I-70 can be dangerous as hell this time of year through those mountains.

*Shudder*

Remembering driving 500 miles north with a friend's four cats in my little Honda, while he took the three big dogs in his car.

The first 400 miles (during the flat parts) the cats slept, but the sleep juice the vet gave them wore off just as we hit the mountains, and so I had to drive one handed on narrow roads with one arm bent behind me, holding the paw of an otherwise upset kitty. (He was quiet as long as I held the paw he stuck through the cat carrier bars...but the second I'd let go, he'd get distressed.)
