Friday habits

ChurchGoing
As galateadia was posting last week, habit dies harder than holiness - for although I haven't been a practicing Adventist for years, every Friday I am overcome with the neurotic impulse to clean house. Today will likely be a wash so far as writing goes; I've already blown half my morning trying to get something taken care of for moriarty6 (long, irritating story), so I might as well throw in the towel and indulge my OCD for a bit.

On the upshot - from a productivity standpoint - I got about half of our wedding thank-you notes written up (a day or two ago) and mailed (today). I would have finished the rest, but I ran out of notes and stamps. Ah, well. I got more stamps this morning, and we'll have to pick up more notes this weekend. Also on my to-do list this weekend: those pass edits. If the rain ever lets up, I'll walk the manuscript down to a coffeehouse and camp out for a few hours on Sunday. Tomorrow, I want to try to hit the Science Fiction museum.

I am determined to get the hell out of this apartment, even if it means getting wet and freezing.

if you're gonna live here you're gonna have to learn to walk in the rain! :)

Bite me.

I've gone walking in hurricanes before.
I don't have a problem being wet; I just don't like being cold and wet.

Go see the Chihuly bridge of glass in Tacoma; it's supposed to be beautiful. fairyhead is rather insistent that we see it when we're in Washington.

HAH! I'm not alone!

I'm working from home as well now y'see, and today being a day I can't get ANYone on the phone cuz they's all gone for Easter, I just finished cleaning in my bathroom and living room and sweeping the dining room. Next, after this short internet junkie break, I'll steam the parrot's cage and the living roomfloor will become sparkling clean. Then it'll be back to the bathroom to sweep and clean that floor, then maybe the same for the kitchen cuz its just nasty too.

Yeah, I feel *connected* to my fellow ex-martian. yep.

I'm not too well up on 7th Day Adventists but I don't think I'd be keen on any religion that involves that much housework! :)

When you move up north you need some cheery clothing to fight off the spring blahs. Iowa in the spring was all rainy and wet and smelly, I hated it. Here in The South it's already all flowery (and polleny).

Get someone to knit you some funky socks!

The Science Fiction Museum sounds cool. Is there a site with photos to it?

There's also a Starbucks on Broadway across from QFC. What they say is almost true. There's almost a Starbucks on every block in this city.
